Ourika Valley, Atlas Mountains
We don't run studios or city classes — every session we teach happens outdoors in the Atlas Mountains, guided by the same local team behind Atlas Mountains Tours.
The Ourika Valley gives us something a studio never could: open sky, terraced fields, and the quiet of the High Atlas at sunrise. Our guides know these trails from years of leading treks through them, and they built these sessions around that terrain rather than the other way around.
Each class is small, taught in Berber villages or on the terraces just outside them, and timed to the light — sunrise, mid-morning, or sunset. If you've taken a class with Atlas Mountains Tours, you've taken it here.
Reserve Your SpotThree ways to practice in the Atlas, each timed to a different part of the day.
A flowing sequence timed to the sun rising over the valley terraces — the coolest, quietest part of the day to move.
Slower, held poses on flat terrace ground, well suited to a first class or anyone easing back into practice.
Guided breathing and stillness as the light drops behind the peaks — a quiet close to a day in the mountains.
Altitude, quiet, and open air change what a session gives you.
The valley sits well above the city smog line — most people notice the difference in the first few breaths.
No traffic, no phones buzzing nearby — just the sound of the valley, which does most of the work for you.
Practicing on natural terrain instead of a flat studio floor asks more of your balance and core with every pose.
There's something to being small in front of the High Atlas that tends to put the rest of the day in perspective.
A few notes from guests after a session in the valley.
The sunrise class was worth setting an alarm for. We were the only people on the terrace, and the instructor paced everything around the light rather than the clock.
I've done yoga retreats before, but never one where the terrain itself was part of the practice. The Hatha session on the terraces made me work in ways a studio floor never has.
I was nervous going in as a complete beginner. The guide slowed everything down for me without making the rest of the group wait around, and the sunset meditation was the calmest I've felt in months.
Every session is capped to keep the group small — reserve a spot ahead of time.
